I am in total agreement with blurmedia and Squishy.
Looks like something Crocodile Dundee would wear and therefore is the best.

Hmm...don't know that these can be called cowboy hats. Anyone else here from the South? Good, therefore I win.
Probably #1 though. Both look like they can be purchased at walmart tbh.

Well I've worn some straw hats (bought one in Panama), and got a shitty one (it looked good, but it's Billabong - it was the only decent looking hat in town -, therefore it's made out of crap and sold for a lot, and it's about to break).
I'm from North East Canada, therefore I'm not geographically located near any western hats shop, and it's kinda hard to pick something without being able to try it. And as I have not tried anything other than wheat colored straw, it makes it kinda hard to choose..

Billabong, that was the brand I was thinking of.
Generally, and from what I've experienced, the more money you pay, the nicer the hat is. I don't mean to tell you to buy an expensive one. But some of the cheaper straw ones get pretty uncomfortable pretty quick.
Looks for a liner, or a ring around the inside of the hat where it sits on your head. That will help a little.
After a little further research, those hats look alright. Depends, of course, on how much you'll be wearing it as to hoq comfortable it will be over time. But that's true of any piece of clothing.

I would wear it pretty much the whole summer.
This is the hat I have ATM (it's billabong but I wear it backwards because the front side has the Billabong icon and I feel bad doing "free advertising" for them :P ): http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/2589/photo9sa3.jpg
This list pretty much has the best straw hats: http://www.hatcountry.com/index.php?..._per_page=1000

Most Stetson's are pretty good. Depending on how much you know about cowboys hats though, that may be a little obvious.
I would tend to shy away from a white one since the dirt is going to show up really well. And black is out, since it's going to get hot. Most of them look pretty good though.
I'd probably go with one of your original choices though.
